“In order for the European Union to work effectively, everyone has to feel as part of the same family. So: Yes, I was born in Britain, but I’m European. Yes I was born in Germany, but I’m European. That would then be the United States of Europe, which a lot of people don’t want. But for me, that would be the solution.”
